In God’s lovely creation, there is a consistency we see around us that enables us to depend on (trust in/have faith in) the elements. We have confidence and expectations in different seasons. We can depend on the day to be longer in the summer and shorter in the winter. We can depend on trees to produce fruits during certain months. We can depend on gravity to pull us down when we jump up in the air. We can depend on the fire to produce heat when it is kindled. Almost everything in creation has some consistency that enables the thriving of life as we depend on them.

On the other hand, sometimes when it is about trusting and depending on the One (God Almighty) who created these consistencies, we sometimes find ourselves slightly reluctant to trust in Him. When things don’t make sense and the system fails us, let us trust in God’s unfailing love and goodness. When we have tried everything in our strength and have sought the advice of the wise but the storm still rages, let us lean to God and remember his faithfulness. As you can surely trust in the rising of the sun in the morning and its setting in the evening (at different seasons) so you can also trust in God’s faithfulness, goodness and love even when things look uncertain.

As a child of God, do not lose hope, persist in prayer, reflect on your life, ask others to pray with you, but have faith in the Lord your God.

Regarding this, the Psalmist said, “On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us” (Psalm 62:7-8).
