Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, PATIENCE, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law”
Patience is one of the key fruit of the Spirit that as Christians, we may need to often remind ourselves to exercise. After many years of coming to faith, I still find myself being reminded by the Holy Spirit to be patient.
Patience is not only a delay of action or tolerating in hope, but in its true essence, patience is actually an action taken in view of a desirable end. Ultimately, the seed of patience reaps harvests of healthy relationships, good opportunities, quality outcomes etc. The challenge of being patient is discerning the point at which patience becomes waiting or bearing in vain. Nonetheless, as Christians, we are encouraged to be patient as this is a fruit of the Holy Spirit. In a fast-paced world where almost everything we desire can be attained at the click of a button, patience is an admirable virtue to possess. As Christians, we are called to be a light to the world and an example of godliness to the people around us. Let us therefore be stirred to exercise the fruit of the Spirit as we interact with the people around us.
Have a fruitful week and take confidence in the fact that the Lord that calls you to be patient will reward you as you wait and bear with others.
Blessings,
Chris Eke
